So what's water baptism all about? What is it and why should I do it? When Jesus was leaving his disciples, he give them three final instructions, ". . .¹go, ²make disiciples, ³baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and Holy Spirit." (Matthew 28:19) Water baptism is the outward expression of our acceptance of Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour. Baptism is a symbolic representation of Christ's death and burial for our sin, and his resurrection. And just as Christ died, was buried, and resurrected, baptism represents our"dying to sin, continuing to bury sin, and being rised up from the death to newness of life in Christ.
